What is the Meme Maker?
The ToolZen Meme Maker lets you put bold text on any photo and save the result as a picture you can share anywhere. Choose a photo from your phone or computer, type your top and bottom text, and drag each line to the spot you like. You can change the font, size, colours and outline, add more text boxes, and use CAPITALS or normal letters. If you do not have a photo, pick a plain colour background instead. The meme is made in your browser and your picture is never uploaded.

Tips for best results
Short text works best. Keep each line to a few words and make the letters large. Use white text with a black outline for most photos, because it stays readable on both light and dark backgrounds. Sinhala and Tamil text works too, but the Impact style font only has English letters, so your phone uses its own font for the rest. Pick a photo with some empty space where the text can go, and only use pictures you have the right to share.
ToolZen tools run in your browser, so your pictures are not uploaded to a server. Bookmark this page and come back whenever you want to make a new meme. There is nothing to install and no account to create.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to sign up to use the Meme Maker?
No. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many memes you make.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. The picture is opened and edited inside your browser, and it stays on your device.
Can I write in Sinhala or Tamil?
Yes. Type the text normally. Your device draws the letters with one of its own fonts, so the look can be different from the English fonts.
How do I move the text?
Touch the text on the picture and drag it. You can also use the Left / right and Up / down sliders for small changes.
Can I add more than two lines of text?
Yes. Press Add text to make a new text box. You can add up to eight boxes and style each one on its own.
Which file should I download?
PNG keeps the sharpest text. JPG makes a smaller file, which is handy for chats and slow connections.
